The recent Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) in Rome was a thrilling event held against the stunning backdrop of the Circus Maximus. This stage of the tour, one of the most iconic and competitive, featured top riders from around the world competing across various challenging categories.

PremiuMares Competitions:
The PremiuMares-sponsored categories were a highlight, with competitions such as the CSI2* events showcasing exceptional equestrian talent. Maria Milena Pappas, the founder of PremiuMares, was particularly proud of the performances, as these categories emphasize breeding excellence, aligning with her company's mission to produce future sport horse champions. The events presented by PremiuMares included Two Phase Special and Against the Clock competitions at heights ranging from 1.15m to 1.45m. These events provided a platform for both upcoming and seasoned riders to demonstrate their skills.

In the CSI2* categories, which are supported by PremiuMares, Maria Milena Pappas had a notable presence. Competing with her horses Eh Bein van t&L and Fantasie, Pappas achieved commendable results:

  • 115cm Category (Friday & Saturday): Pappas and Eh Bein van t&L secured 7th place on both days.
  • 115cm Category (Saturday): Pappas also rode Fantasie to a 9th-place finish.
  • 115cm Category (Sunday): Pappas and Eh Bein van t&L improved their performance, finishing in an impressive 3rd place.

GCL Competition:
In the Global Champions League (GCL), teams battled fiercely in two rounds, both set at 1.55m and 1.60m heights. The competition was intense, with each team's strategy and precision tested to the maximum. The GCL remains a cornerstone of the LGCT, where team dynamics and individual brilliance come together in a unique format that keeps fans on the edge of their seats.

The GCL competition was fiercely contested, with Madrid in Motion emerging victorious. This win solidifies their standing as one of the top teams in the league. On the other hand, Shanghai Swans finished in 7th place, which impacted their overall position in the season standings.

Grand Prix:
The highlight of the event was the LGCT Grand Prix, where Victor Bettendorf claimed victory aboard Foxy de la Roque. Bettendorf's win in this 1.60m class was a masterclass in speed and precision, securing him a crucial victory in the Rome leg of the tour.

Overall, the LGCT Rome was a spectacular display of elite show jumping, with riders and horses demonstrating world-class performance across all categories
