SHANGHAI SWANS MAKING A COME BACK IN THE GC RIYADH

The 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix and GCL Super Cup were spectacular showcases of top-tier equestrian sport.

Victor Bettendorf rode Foxy de la Roque to the top of podium, displaying remarkable skill and precision in a highly competitive field. Thomas Gilles with the promising Ermitage Kalone took second place as Michael Duffy with Quirex came third with 2 time faults.

In the GCL Super Cup, the Shanghai Swans (Max Kuhner, Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser and Ben Maher) emerged as a dominant force throughout the competition. They claimed first place in both the Quarter Finals and Semi Finals, demonstrating consistency and excellence.

In the GCL Super Cup Finals, the Stockholm Hearts secured the championship title with standout performances from Nicola Philippaerts (Katanga v/h Dingeshof), Malin Baryard-Johnsson (H&M Indiana), and Julien Epaillard (Donatello d'Auge). The Shanghai Swans, a consistent force throughout the competition, earned second place with Ben Maher (Point Break), Daniel Deusser (Killer Queen VDM), and Max Kühner (Elektric Blue P). Third place was taken by Riesenbeck International, represented by Michael McMahon (Mila), Philipp Weishaupt (Coby 8), and the Olympic champion Christian Kukuk (Checker 47).

Overall, the Riyadh event was a resounding success, combining world-class sport with impeccable organization. Congratulations to the riders, teams, and event staff.
